Sr. Director of Sales - Comcast Beltway
Edward Rowan joined Comcast Business in August 2015 as Sr. Director of Sales for the Beltway Region.In 2017 he took on the responsibility of all commercialsales operations related activities within the Beltway Region, including market development, pre and post-sales support,sales engineering and building access.Most recently, in late 2021, Ed assumed the role of Sr.Director of Business Development.In this role he is responsible for identifying future network expansion growth opportunities for Comcast in the Mid-Atlantic across all channels. He brings to Comcast over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications arena, with expertise in leading business units experiencing transformational change and high growth potential.
Prior to joining Comcast Business, Ed was the Regional Director of Business Services for Cox Communications in Virginia, where he led the business services units in Northern VA,Fredericksburg,and the Roanoke Valley. During his seven years with Cox, he expanded their business unit success with double digit growth each year from 2009 thru 2015. He was responsible for leading all business channels across the region including both direct and in direct lines of business.
From 1999 through 2009, Ed held various expanding leadership responsibilities within the CLEC sector of the telecommunications industry. Working through an array of mergers and acquisitions, Ed acted as Regional Director and Vice President of Sales with Net 2000, Cavalier Telephone, and US LEC. His last role was as Regional Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic for PAETEC Communications where he led the direct sales and retention organizations across Maryland, Virginia,and the District of Columbia.
Previous to this, Ed held various positions over a nine-year tenure with Bell Atlantic. Ed started his career as a Small Business Account Executive and worked in a number of responsibilities including Channel Management, Enterprise Sales, as well as a stint in Business Finance.
Ed Rowan holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing & International Business, from the George Washington University in Washington DC. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Washington and Lee University in Lexington VA.
Ed has sat on a variety of Boards promoting business development across the region over the years.He is an active board member of the VCTA and has represented Chamber organizations including the Tysons Regional Chamber and the Mt. Vernon Lee Chamber.He also spent three years on the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation Board expanding business interests in that part of Virginia.
He resides in Ashburn VA with his wife Jennifer and his daughter Addison
