Tammy, with her family, own and operate the Hillview Dairy Farm. Hillview Dairy is a hilly fourth-generation farm that straddles the Rockingham County-Augusta County line. Tammy's personal passion includes promoting agriculture and educating young people about agriculture. For several years she has served as the Co-Coach of the Rockingham 4-H Livestock Judging Team, Meats Judging Team, and Skillathon Team. She holds a degree from Virginia Tech with a double major in Animal Science and Poultry Science.

The Crauns milk about 180 head of Holsteins, selling the product to Dairy Farmers of America. They also have a 100-head cow-calf beef operation, raising Angus and Angus crosses. With crops — corn, soybeans, alfalfa and grass hay — and about 300 acres of pasture, they own or lease about 900 acres of farmland in two parts of the counties.
